APPEAL TARGET REACHED

The Trustees of The Trocadero Wurlitzer Trust are delighted to announce that the “Tank Up The Troc” appeal has not only raised the £250,000 sought to complete the Trocadero To Troxy project, but exceeded the target by more than £12,000. They extend their grateful thanks to all the individuals and organisations that have generously supported the appeal and enabled this substantial amount to be raised in just two and a half years.

Recently, it has been identified that some additional work could be completed by the project, and that it would be advantageous for this to be carried out before the Wurlitzer plays for the first time. Consequently, and as the appeal to date has generated additional funds, the Trustees have decided to add this work to the project. This is explained in more detail in the March 2013 TrocaDiary by project leader John Abson. The extra work requires an additional £25,000 of funding, of which about half is already to hand, and a second appeal has now been launched to raise the outstanding amount.

TRUSTEES VISIT THE TROXYDSC1

In mid-October the Trustees of the Trocadero Wurlitzer Trust visited the Troxy to see firsthand the work completed to date and discuss future plans.
John Abson (project leader) and Graham Noble (project coordinator) were on-hand to guide the Trustees round the theatre.
The Trustees were able to see the installation to date in the Upper Main chamber and the prepared Main blower electrics, together with the Lower Main, Solo and Percussion chambers that are ready for organ installation.
