The Trust's main activity is to support the project by fundraising.

Our charitable status enables us to claim back through the Gift Aid scheme income tax paid on the donations (so, effectively, a taxpayer making a donation does so before rather than after paying tax). It dosen't involve the donor in anything other than signing a declaration to the Trust, but it increases your effective donation by the tax (25% plus 3%) you have already paid on the monies donated - a neat way to get something back from the tax authorities.

Now that charitable status has been granted, the fundraising appeal "Tank up the Troc" was launched on 1st September 2010.

In the next few months, as we seek to put fuel in the tank of the project machine, we will also be approaching some of the grant aiding bodies that may be willing to help us.
